The DEWE-501 is our most popular instrument for in-vehicle applications where 16 channels is just not enough. It provides up to 128 dynamic analog channels, up to 4 CAN BUS interfaces, up to 8 synchronous counter/encoders, up to 40 digital inputs, and more.

Made for in-vehicle applications like ROAD LOAD, chassis dynamics, and all kinds of durability tests, the DEWE-501 series features all solid state hardware inside - even the hard drive! And the DEWE-501 runs for hours from its own internal hot-swappable batteries.
  • Battery powered with DC input, hot-swappable batteries
  • High accuracy, 16, 22 or 24 bit resolution
  • Fast sampling: 100 kS/s to 1MS/s per channel
  • Powerful Intel® PC inside
  • Rugged solid state disk drive, 40 MB/s stream-to-disk rate
  • Stackable expansion to 128 channels
Two hot-swappable batteries guarantee continuous operation without an external power source for up to 2 hours. Since this time depends a lot on the system configuration a software plugin shows the battery status directly in the software. Also alarm conditions can be set and the battery parameters can be displayed as additional measurement channels.

Hot-swappable batteries mean that the DEWE-501 can run indefinitely without any external power.
A solid state drive is installed for extreme demanding environments. And we offer a variety of MOBILE displays that are made specifically for installation on the windshield.

    DEWE-501-B
    Stacks Image 707
In this version, the front panel is prefabricated to hold 64 x DSUB input connectors for strain, bridge, voltages, and IEPE (via MSI). There is also room for CAN BUS, counters, and digital input connectors.
    DEWE-501-A
    Stacks Image 705
In this version, the front panel has four 1.5U positions for conditioning panels. Perfect when you need 64 x BNC input connectors for voltage, IEPE, or a combination. There is also room for CAN BUS, counters, and digital input connectors.
Stackable expansion from 64 to 128 channels
There is a stackable channel expansion for all DEWE-501 which connects to the base unit via PCI link and SYNC interface.

The two chassis are mechanically locked together, preserving the ruggedness of the entire system. The expansion system does not have a computer inside, for enhanced reliability.

    ORION series A/D cards
Simultaneous sampling Dewetron ORION cards are at the heart of every Dewetron data acquisition system, providing the TIMING BACKBONE that allows us to record so many disparate data sources in perfect sync with each other. Each ORION card provides not only analog inputs, but digital inputs and digital I/O lines, and synchronous counter/encoders. In addition, they can be upgraded to have more digital/encoder lines, as well as two synchronous CAN BUS interfaces.

    Key Features
    • Simultaneous sampling
    • Separate ADC on each channel
    • 16, 22, and 24 bit resolution
    • Sigma delta or successive approximation ADC chips
    • Synchronous counter/encoder inputs and digital I/O lines
    • Optional CAN BUS interfaces
    • Optional counter expansion and SUPER counter expansion in most cards
